Vikings,

need a recommendation for a cruising guide to Mexico, specifically Sea of Cortez. Does anyone have a good one to point out?

Thank in advance,
Stan

+1 on Charlie's Charts. We're currently in Bahia Ballena (awesome spot) and have been using Charlie's Charts since we left Ensenada. Make sure you get the addendums and updates before you leave too.

Cruising Guide

Without a doubt, the best cruising guide to the Sea of Cortez is:

http://exploringcortez.com/

The information is current, the chartlets are beautiful, and the waypoints accurate. This is also a very enjoyable read. Breeding and Bansmer have also published the must have cruisers guide for the Pacific coast of Mexico.

During my cruise two years ago I used these two guidbooks almost exclusively and found most other cruisers using them as well. I found both Charlie's Charts and the Raines Guide less informative and somewhat confusing in design.

The downside is they seemed pretty expensive... but worth the price.
