Changing Bulbs
Hi Bill,
Every time I change a bulb, I put an LED in. That means I don't have to change it again. In the case of the anchor light, it doesn't drain the battery. Many of the Ericsons have the Aqua Marine lamps which means they have the festoon bulbs. Dr. LED makes a direct LED replacement for the festoon. I am also replacing my cabin lights with LED's. My cabin has 14 lights. My batteries are getting happier and happier. If you go up the mast, make sure you have a good boson's chair and a means of clipping yourself to the mast. The top of the mast gets uncomfortable in a hurry. Do not use a halyard clip to fasten the boson's chair to the halyard. Tie the chair to it. Consider a second halyard as a backup tied on. Most of all trust the guy hauling you up or don't go up. You are not expendable!
