I attached a GoPro mount -- just a piece of plastic -- on a fiberglass boat hook. It extends 5-8', and still works fine as a boathook.

That's almost exactly the angle I want. How do you mount the boat hook to the pushpit, or whatever it's stuck to?

Blue paper painterʻs tape.

The boat hook is also a handy wand for water-level scenes or dolphins at the bow or even a quick check of the rudder and prop.

I attach the small GoPro female mount with screws or strong cable ties. The adhesive isnʻt reliable enough for the strong forces on a swinging or submerged camera.
