Bottom Help

This is my third season with my 1988 E32-200. Her bottom is a little rough but shows no signs of blistering. I have many coats of ablative paint that is checking and cracking. The whole bottom needs to be stripped and barrier coated in the next few years. I'm am looking for someone in the Detroit area to do the job sometime late this summer or next year.

There are a few places where I have sanded and fared the cracks in the bottom paint. Some of the sanding has gone to the gel coat. These spots are dime sized or smaller. I was going to spot paint the sanded areas just to get me through the summer. The question is this, do I need to apply barrier paint on these small areas in order to avoid blistering? There are about 30 places where the gel coat is visible.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a small amount of barrier epoxy?

Were Ericsons delivered with black bottoms? That is the color that I see just before I hit gel coat.

Thanks for the help

Paul
