Yesterday a 37 ft powerboat caught fire, burned, and sank near the massive Ravenel Bridge in Charleston Harbor. It created some high drama for everyone in and around the harbor, not to mention the people on board, who fortunately were able to abandon ship before she went down. There has been a discussion on this forum of late about the potential deadly consequences of gasoline fires on boat. The Coast Guard is still investigating the accident, so it's hard to say that this point whether fuel or batteries (or inattention to them on the part of the owners, or I should say former owners) are to blame. One things for sure, the guy's fire extinguisher didn't do enough to stop to fire, even though he appears to have moved against it quickly.
