A couple months ago I saw an older E38 brochure line drawing that had checkstays on it. So I guess that was offered as an upgrade from Ericson years ago? A few weeks later I was offshore beating to weather in a pretty crappy seastate on the boat and decided to go look up the mast to check for pumping.... it was pumping as we slammed into the next wave. Checkstays will stop this but I'm curious if anybody had them installed on a 38? I'm curious also what y'alls backstay tension is set at, I had mine set at 1800lbs(turnbuckle not an adjuster) for this day as I knew it was going to be rough.
