Back to Opening Ports Again

I have gone through all of the threads I can find on the Lewmar Opening Ports.......

I followed the advice on one to call Catalina Direct for the Lenses and Gaskets, which I did, and ordered one gasket and one lense to make sure that they will work.

I copied the article from Yachtworld and removed one latch and proceeded to try to get the correct size "O" ring.......found this to be a real problem.....everyone has them in pre-packaged bags which you cannot just try for fit.....I bought four different ones....they will all work if they are a bit oversized, but the latches require enough effort to make me think that it will eventually do some damage.....even with a glob of silicone grease on them.

The bottom line on all of this is:-

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE EXACT NUMBER "O" RING, OR HAVE ALL OF THE CORRECT DIMENSIONS FOR THIS "O" RING.....

Any help would be appreciated......

Have you tried getting in touch with Lewmar? They sell spares and will answerer questions if called. If you haven't already gone to their site, here it is.

I have purchased spare winch parts and parts for Lewmar hatches. Call them - they are very helpful and seem to know the products very well.
