Does anyone know the approximate number of hours you can get on an Atomic4 before you have to have a rebuild?

I don't have much experience with these engines yet, however from a conversation with a local marine mechanic who has worked on these engines, he claims 8000hrs max. However, this is rarely ever reached due to "external" circumstances. Like the exhaust elbow deterioration or cranking the engine too much and having the salt water back up into the engine through the exhaust.

Go to this very useful website and email the owner, who is an expert on Atomic 4 engines and also rebuilds them.
