No personal interest in this boat just saw it on the Annapolis Craigslist.

Currently near Charleston, SC ad says it will be moving to the lower Chesapeake in the Fall.

Odd. The seller sounds like a boat restorer who lost interest in this one.

I appreciate his including the Lightning (class boat) certificate in the photos. Sorta shows where his mind is at the moment.

Restoring a lightning is a big job --everything is wood including spars, complicated floorboards, deck makes access awkward-- but apparently not as big as he faced with this 31.

Listed as model 31C (presumably 'Cutter') - but photos show a regular 31 Independence (not a cutter rig).
Very well equipped for cruising though - would probably be a satisfying project for someone.

C is for Cruising, that's good enough for me.

I think the name was changed from Cruising to Independence during the production run. Believe I've seen some Independences that have a Liberty Bell on the sheer stripe where other Ericsons have Viking horns.
