did this fix on an E38 if you search on "E38 strut" you will find a pic showing the fix I had done to my strut. The bump was ground off. There is a backing plate to the strut that was then through bolted to the hull bottom. Did this maybe 5 years ago and it is solid. No stress cracks...

great stuff I have been drilling lots of holes in my e38 to fix some dry delamination problems and got fed up trying to match the gelcoat and pattern. Tried the template and gelcoat thing and then covered everything over with kiwi grip. It did a pretty good job of hiding the old pattern...

did it with the sea hood in place I managed to take the traveler and the c channel off using a screw driver held with vice grips. All the nuts in the sea hood stayed in place. I used a heat gun to loosen the adhesive under the c channel . Sent the c channel to Garhauer and he matched up...
