Open CPN the other nice thing about OpenCPN is that the charts are available for free from all sorts of places I'm working on converting some other bathymeric charts into .kap format I've got Google earth and maps working now, next is getting some of the more propriety formats to convert over.

Open CNP Opencpn uses rnc and enc noaa charts also has ability to use grib data open source which means a simple process to compile for whatever os you use I have used it in windows :2k,xp,7 linux: debian derivatives works great and free as well
