Transmission - Hurth HBW10 - Sealing Case Question

Well, when you really put some thought into it ,anything that requires constant replenishing of fluids because of a leak, is most likely being better maintained than one that just gets new oil or fluid every 50 hours. Oh, no disposal problems! If a Lycoming engine is getting a quart and a half...

Transmission - Hurth HBW10 - Sealing Case Question

Hi Y'all A very acceptable sealing mechanism for machined mating surfaces is to use Indian Head gasket cement on the surfaces (light coat) then carefully lay a silk thread inside all bolt holes . This is used on aircraft engine crankcase halves when assembling. Works on any machined mating...

    Pirate Hostages

I'm sure glad I'm not in charge because the first response I had was "NUKE'EM from orbit" as Sigourney Weaver said in Aliens . However it make sense to let our military set yachts as bait now. It would then be easy to make examples of the criminals when caught in a trap. No mercy no quarter. I...

You will get tired of punching 40 foam plugs , why not just cut two and use Gorilla Glue to seal the tube with the plugs at each end. The pole will be lighter and it will still float. Just be sure to recess the foam plugs so the end fittings will seat properly. While you are at it add just...

    Propspeed coating?

I have read that coating a prop with STP works well. However, I read this is some sailing magazine before EPA was a household word. I strongly suspect that the impact of STP pollution is far outweighed by better fuel economy of a clean prop. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

1982 E-38 rudder grease fittings and leak

removing broken fittings or bolts HI, If you can get to the remainder of this fitting with a drill. There are left-handed drill bits which will often grab the broken fitting or bolt and because the drill is running lefty-loosey will turn it out. I get these left-handed bits from Harbor...
