WTB 130% Jib Sail for E32-3

Eric. I ended up buying a ~130% sail from Lee Sails. Very happy with it. And it is just enough shorter to clear the lifelines when tacking. A nice thing. Compared to the old tired Jib the boat points a little higher, takes less sheet tension and runs a little faster. Here is what we ordered for...

WTB 130% Jib Sail for E32-3

My old and very tired 130% Jib Sail either needs expensive repairs or replacing . I have decided we would like to replace it with a sail that will fit the boat a little better with a higher cut to clear the life lines. So my ideal sail would be: CANCEL this WTB. Luff 39' 6" up to 40' 0" Leach...

    E32-2 boomkicker suggestions

Boomkicker on 32-3 I put a "K1000" with the optional Sliding Track"B1090" on our E32-2. It came with 2 sets of Spring Rods. I installed the lighter ones. Thinking now to put the heavier rods in to put a little more lift in the boom. I also made a bracket to make the Mast attachment stronger and...

    Poll: Glow Plug Time

Also did relay trick for glo plugs Ever since 2005 owning our E32-3 with a M25 it has taken 30 to 40 seconds of glo plug for sometimes balky cold starts. No more. I also installed a relay (used a Ford starter motor relay) and now cold starts take a maximum of 15 seconds of glo plug time. The...

E32-3 Rig Spinnaker Halyard in port or stbd mast sheave

Got the idea! Thanks folks for all your insight into my thread. For now I am going to run the new halyard thru the port sheave. I thought it would be neat to have both port and stbd halyards - but for me to think that far ahead and choose one during a race would be a stretch.

E32-3 Rig Spinnaker Halyard in port or stbd mast sheave

Our 1986 E32-3 does not have a spinnaker halyard. And I want to rig one in order to fly a asymetrical spinnaker. Presently there is 3 forward masthead sheaves with the roller furling jib using the one in the center. That leaves me having to choose the port or stbd. Is there any reason to choose...

    Our E32-3 in print again

Our friend Richard Smith did a 1 page article for Cruising World. It is on page 84 of the June 2012 edition. Looks pretty good! Nice start for our sailing season here in the Pacific NW.

    Universal m3-20b alternator belt alternative?

I put a belt from NAPA on our M25 about 5 years ago. Still looks and works just fine. I can get a number if anyone is interested.

    What Transmission in 32-200?

Hi. A PO replaced the ZF5 in our E32-3 with an M25 engine to a ZF10. It developed problems so I attempted an overhaul. Got the shimming wrong and after $500 in parts it failed. Local Marine (Hurth dealer) said they don't do overhauls. They just replace them. I did that. New ZF10 was about $1k...

Data Marine Wind Angle compatibility with RayMarine Autopilot?

Hi, I'm in process of getting ready to install a RayMarine X5 Autopilot on a friends 1987 E34. Nice boat! It has a DataMarine Wind Angle Gauge (LX3600 I think). My question is - Does anyone know if the DataMarine Wind Angle Gauge will send data to the RayMarine X5 AP? Thanks

    Bottom Paint for Puget Sound???

I use Pettit SR 40 ablative. Put on 2 coats (2 gallons) every 3 years. Seems to work OK in Kingston. I get a local diver to clean every few months (6 max) too. I think I ordered from Defender but I will look into the price match idea with West Marine now.

    Oil pressure problem?

Look in the Torrensen Web site, Or at this web page. It might be easy to change. http://www.marinedieseldirect.com/catalogs/catalog_group.php?owner=mdd&catalog=200142&model=M-25 / M-25XP / M-25XPA&page_ident=200142-9&manufacturer=Universal&title=Gear Case Group&size=800

    Oil pressure problem?

On our M25 with 2500 some hours I had the same problem. Turned out the root cause was a worn spring inside the Oil Pressure Relief Valve. I replaced the Relief Valve with one from Kubota as well as a new Oil Pressure Switch and the problem is now gone. OBTW I also plumbed in an old fashioned...

    dropping rudder 32-3

I dropped the rudder on our 32-3 a yr ago. Was easy to with the boat on the hard. Plenty of clearance. Just remove the quadrant clamp bolts and the one 3/8th in thru bolt and down it comes. Keep close track of the order of washers etc. I have heard of people shimming the bronze bearing with...
