    E27 stanchion height

Can anyone tell me the stanchion height for an Ericson 27? It's long past time to replace the lifelines on my boat. I've noticed there is a moulded stanchion base about 2 feet aft of the first stanchion going forward that looks like it was designed for an extra stanchion for a gate. The "gate"...

    E 29 Engine Conversion- Atomic 4 to Yanmar 2gm20f

I did the conversion in my E27. A4 to a Yanmar 2GMF which I believe is very similar to the 2GMF20. I built up the engine mount beds with S4S fir and fiberglassed the entire thing. Then painted with bilge coat. I made a template using the dimensions from the Yanmar manual to get the proper...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

Zephyrwerkrs So I told Ed from Zephyrwerks my situation, just as a warning that it would seem that not all Ericson 27 mastheads are the same, and he very generously and unexpectedly told me he would send me a whole new, correctly sized, set. I have received the new set, which are all 2 3/8" x...

    Concealed inset hinge replacement

Those are all great ideas The idea with the head was to add some colour and something a little different where it won't clash with the rest of the boat. I've also made a medicine cabinet that I have left for my other half to finish in whatever colour she sees fit. We will most likely end up...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

Complete. Sort of... So I went up and came back down again 5 times. I didn't drop anything, including myself. I used a lot of climbers webbing, a lot of rope, and a significant amount of nerves. It would seem my masthead isn't the typical Ericson 27 masthead. It is welded on with 2 5/16" x...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

I do feel very fortunate to live here. We certainly have to pay for the privilege, but I do think it's worth it. Though having grown up here, I am bias. For convenience sake I would love to have the boat in Vancouver where I live to be able to go and work or sail whenever I want. However, for...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

Thanks again for all the helpful replies. I have inspected the the sheaves and they are in rough condition. I use the jib halyard to lift my dingy onto the foredeck when I'm not using it. The halyard makes a terrible squealing noise when I lower it again. Gets all the dogs in the area barking...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

halyards to the cockpit I might as well ask this question in this thread as well. As part of this entire project, I will be bringing the halyards back to the cockpit. I already have a spare winch, double rope clutch and double deck organizer. The question is what to do at the base of the mast...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately, where my boat is located there is no access to anything to lower the mast. I was up the mast a few days ago and did use one halyard to climb and was also attached to the other halyard as a backup with someone on deck taking up the slack. The idea...

    E27 Mast head sheaves

I need to replace the sheaves on my '76 E27. I will also the be converting to all-rope halyards. I have already received a quote from Zephyrwerks. I'd like to do the work with the mast still standing. My plan is to climb the mast using a Top Climber and one of the halyards. Then drill a hole...

    E27 Battery charger location?

I ended up mounting it just at the entrance to the quarter berth. It's out of the way but still very accessible and no problems with ventilation. I'm not sure what I'll do with the AC plug for the charger. I did purchase a 15amp inlet that mounts just like a standard shore power inlet that...

    E27 Battery charger location?

I've just picked up a new ProMariner ProSport 20amp battery charger and I'm curious to know where others have located their chargers. The leads are 5' long so that limits its placement. It is fully waterproof which helps. Its dimensions are 12.125"x7.25"x2.75" I'd like it to be somewhere...

    Lack of Tankage Solution?

In my 27, the rigid water tank was located under the aft portion of the V-berth. I then installed a 22gal holding tank where the water tank was and moved the water tank in front of the holding tank. I'm not worried about having a tank above the water line as I don't think more than maybe 10gal...

    Lack of Tankage Solution?

Has anyone tried using the area behind the settee backs to fit flexible tanks? I haven't even cut mine open yet so I'm not entirely sure how much room there is between the hull and the settee back but maybe enough for a small tank? I only have 12gals of water on my E27 and I would also like more.
