    Buy an E28 in Yucatan?

look carefully ........ I don't think the boat "Neptuno" in your picture is an Ericson. This boat does not have several of the design elements of the Ericson lines, and in fact has elements that were not normally on Ericsons such as the perforated aluminum toerail and the plastic portlight...

E29 - Fresh water fill plumbing advice

tried any mushrooms lately? Have you tried W**t Mar***'s #396293? You might get just enough clearance if it will screw into your reducer. Or screw a plug into your 1.5" (or enlarge it to an inspection/access port) & put in a new 3/4" hole for the mushroom.

Memorial from a Son Of A Sailor.

great Dads My brother passed way before his time, and he knew it was coming. I remember him telling me that down the road he wanted his young son to smile when he looked back and thought "I remember when Dad and I .......". He was a heck of a man, and your Dad surely was, too.

Adding a portlight/window to cockpit seating to illuminate quarter berth E-32

We have an aft-cabin 38-200 with three opening Lewmar ports in the area you are considering. If they weren't there, I'd put 'em in - here on the Gulf Coast it'd be a hot dark hole without them. We also have curtains on them for privacy when we want it. Through 23 years we have never wished...

Holes that I don't know the use for.

storage If I remember correctly, the 38s started out with their halyard winches on the mast. Those pockets were for winch handle storage on one that raced in my area in the early 80s.

Ericson 38-200 shift lever when sailing

you're in luck ... see the next thread about Kubota blah blah blah. Post #12 has a link to the Hurth Transmission Repair Manual. Check page 29, para 3.5-"Sailing or moving in tow". If I remember our mechanic correctly, the idea is to not burn up the mechanical clutch.

EY.o Site Crash Sept 10th, - Wha' Happened??

Thank you for your efforts on our behalf This site is one of the things I enjoy about owning an Ericson. No matter how many times you might have heard "Thank you", it can't be enough for the effort an endeavor like this takes. I appreciate your sticking with us and doing so much for us.

I am considering changing the name of my boat...

We were boat shopping 21+ years ago and saw an E38-200 we liked at lot, but my wife said she was not interested in owning a boat named “Sea Shanty”. She also said she wanted to go sailing in the starlight, so of course I bought the boat and renamed it “Starlight” and we did. Today we still...

    engine vibration again

yet another direction to go ...... like there aren't enough anyway I had that problem this past year, and the yard & I checked all those things. Additionally, the boat didn't seem to have it's old power, so an engine shop was called in and diagnosed a slightly leaky head gasket. Replacing...

    E27 rudder stock damage question

another source I cruised the local Boater's Resale Shop in Kemah Saturday and noticed that they have a rudder marked "Ericson-27" for sale. It looks like your picture, and appears to be in good condition. I have no connection to the rudder or the shop: http://www.boatersresaleshopoftexas.com/

    E32-3 Water Tank Vents

water alone won't block the vent line The vent lets air escape out of the top of the tanks so that water can enter, sort of like bleeding a diesel fuel system. You might have had a blockage that came out when you blew through the line. As long as the entire vent line and its outlet are...

How to drain an Ice Box

pump it? Sounds like you might have the arrangement I have on my 38. It is plumbed to pump out the icebox into the galley sink using the salt water foot-pump at the sink. The icebox drain line is teed into the salt water supply line at a point between the thru-hull and the foot-pump. There...
