    Transom length on a 1969 Ericson 26

I still have to measure the well, but does anyone have an opinion on this engine for my E26? http://outboardmotorssale.com/products/Suzuki-9.9-HP-DF9.9BTHL2-Outboard-Motor.html

    Transom length on a 1969 Ericson 26

Yes, also what physical size. The Merc I have in there now is a very tight fit. I want to know what dimensions I should be looking for that will fit in the engine bay, reach the water, and still be able to tilt up.

    Transom length on a 1969 Ericson 26

Hi Loren, Thanks for your response. Yes, I have owned and sailed my Ericson 26 for 7 years. Sorry I used the wrong term. How long is whatever I attach the outboard to, outboard bay. I have a Mercury 9.8 in there now that is too unreliable.

    SnapFurl Question

I want to equip my 1969 E26 with roller furling for the foresail. Bouncing around the foredeck has become less exciting and more scary as time goes by. My forestay is 32.49 feet and the two SnapFurl products are 31 feet and 38 feet. My guess is that I get the 31 footer and it is adjusted longer...

Yard Suggestion: Lake Union/Ship Canal/This side of Lake Washington

Canal Boatyard Hi Sean, I recently (May) had my boat hauled out at the Canal Boatyard. and was very pleased with their prices and service. I only had the hull pressure wash done so I can't rate their work, but they were very accomodating for a small boat. The round-trip haulout for under 45...

    Vang Novice

Ok. We have a range (8:1 to 4:1) any suggestions for a make and model? Thank you for your weighs in on this subject. Rob, your suggestion is well taken. Why have an adjustable thing you can’t adjust from the cockpit?</SPAN>

    Vang Novice

I have never sailed with a vang, so need some advice. I tried to sail wing and wing in my E26 and had a heck of a time keeping the boom opposite the genoa. The boom would lift, spilling the wind and around I’d go.</SPAN> I have read that a vang would help with this, but being a complete...

    Sailing music

The song/story 'Peter Kagan and the Wind' sung/told by either the late and lamented Tommy Makem or the still going strong Gordon Bok. The conversation Kagan has with the wind is dead on.

Design Flaw or Quirk o' My Boat?

Good point, Greg. I have a 25 lb anchor, 20' of chain and 300' of rode in the port cockpit locker ... hmmm. I have space in the nose of the V berth, but no handy opening in the forward deck, at least not yet. Anyone have ideas about creating a chain locker where there was none before? Thanks.

Design Flaw or Quirk o' My Boat?

Hi McGinnis, O epoxy guru, any suggestions on how to fair the corners and maintain comfortable seating? Moving's out and my scupper is overloaded as it is with a bilge pump hose T'd into it. I'm curious why the E26 was designed with those water collection points. Anybody else have this problem?

Design Flaw or Quirk o' My Boat?

Rainwater collects in the aft corners of my cockpit seats. Is this just something I have to manually sweep into the scupper or have you all come up with some elegant way to avoid stagnant cockpit pools? Thanks for any suggestions.</SPAN>
