    PSC Bankruptcy - The Auction

I wonder what this means for Saga, too. Nothing mentioned in the bankruptcy notice but apparently PSC was building the Saga models since 2006. Sad news all around. http://www.sagayachts.com/main.html

    opening windows ericson 38 1980

If you have a Bomar portlight, you can call them and they'll determine which is the correct gasket to order. I just ordered today from Sailnet at 1.95/ft. http://www.pompanette.com/bomar It is important to determine if you have cast, plastic, or forged portlights. Different portlights...

    Ericson 381 keel bolts

Keel bolts in 80's era Ericsons we're J-casted into the lead keel. This means they took 1" threaded rod (or 3/4" in the case of the trailing bolt) bent it into a J shape, and then the bolts where cast into the molten lead. Removal of the bolts requires taking the keel off and melting out the...

    Ouch!

Yes...it was at Spicer's and had been there since early fall so I don't think it was storm damage. It was in very sorry shape before they demolished it and I didn't get a chance to see the name. I've been down at Spicer's a few times over the winter and am always surprised to see how many...

    Ouch!

Spotted this Ericson in Noank, CT. The week before it was more recognisable but had very serious damage to the hull. The yard then demolished to cart it away.

    Ericson 381 keel bolts

Hi Jon, What year is your 381? I just had all the nuts and bolts replaced in my 1984 E38 which include twelve 1" bolts and one 3/4" bolt at the trailing end of the keel. Let me know if you need any more info. Much to my dismay, I've become a keel bolt expert this past year! Andy

Roller furler - repair or replace?

Well I did it....I bought and assembled a new Harken 2.0 MkIII roller furler last weekend. Fingers crossed that all goes well when the yard steps the mast with the new furler in place. Thanks again to everyone. Hopefully we'll have an easier time with the genoa this season, which I can only...

    Repitching propeller

So I ended up sending out my prop for repitching my Machine Works at Essex. I haven't received the bill yet but it's going to be between 120 and 140 for repitching, reconditioning, balancing and cleaning. The end result will be a two blade 16x13 which should get me closer to the bottom end of...

    Repitching propeller

So my quotes came in between $75 and $150 to repitch two inches. This should bring me into the bottom end of the cruising range for the 5432 (M-40) so I've decided to go ahead and have it done by Machine Works at Essex in New London CT. As for the Max Prop, I've just blown my G's for this...

    Repitching propeller

I just finished emailing a bunch of prop shops to get an idea of prices. So for, one reply and the person suggested that I need about 10 or 12 inches of pitch so I wouldn't be able to get my 16x15 prop down to that. Any E-38 owners out there know the diameter and pitch of their fixed two...
