    Swiftsure Bank Race May 26

Glad you enjoyed yourselves. We motored out to watch the start but I was distracted by a long phone call I couldn't put off. At least the tide was ebbing, those drifty starts usually seem to be on a flood. Dave

    E-35-2 Chainplate/bulkhead fix

Fun, fun, fun. Just finished replacing both of our bulkheads. The bulkheads themselves weren't to tough, just really messy and time consuming. Not sure how much advice I can offer but will help if I can. The biggest problems we had were all the "while it's out/down/apart we might as well..."...

    Swiftsure Bank Race May 26

Not participating but hoping to get out for the start. 35-2 with a black bootstripe. We'll keep an eye out for Peregrine. Good luck.

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

Just a quick update. Bulkheads are done and hope to have the chainplates installed tomorrow. Mast is being stepped on the 17th and then we can measure for new sails. With any luck it will all come together in time to go to NOOD in Seattle on May 18th. Interior might not be quite done but it'll...

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

Dave N- went down to the boat today (any excuse to skip work) and my sailtrack goes over the track for the gooseneck. Can't really see from your picture but yours looks different. If we do lower the boom it's pretty easy to add whatever length ( I found a few vendors online) we need then put on...

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

I see what your talking about. I figured when the new sail gets made they would just put the lowest slide higher on the luff. Now that I'm looking at it again that might be a pain when flaking the sail. Has anyone else who has done this mod had any problems? I have seen 4' lengths of track so...

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

Thanks again for the input. I've been busy with the holidays and just got back from Mexico so work on the boat has been stalled. Back on it now. We are going to increase the main, how much is yet to be determined. We'll work that out with the sailmaker. Lots to do before we have to worry about...

Plan(hope) to circumnavigate Vancouver Island late this summer

Whatever way you go, look me up when you get to Victoria and I'll buy you a beer.

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

Thanks again for the feedback. Edd-What size headsail do you use? We have the opposite summer winds to you. Ours average 9-10k. Most boats up here end up motoring to actually get anywhere. Ken- Depending on what our sailmaker suggests I think we'll end up doing both. Lets see if I can upload...

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

Thanks Dave. Glad to know we're not the only ones that think the boom is crazy high. We might go more than 8" but that level still allows the shorter members of the crew (I'm 6'3") to stand on the cockpit seats. Still looking at all of our options. I'm not as concerned about how much we drop...

    Increasing 35-2 Mainsail size

Hi All, First post but have been lurking for a while. Thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge. We (myself and two boat partners) bought a well used 35-2 in the fall and have been working on her since. New bulkheads, rigging (standing and running), new electrical etc. We are now at the...
