A La Petite Photo Gallery

Very nice Sven, A lot of those photos are Memory Lane for me having seeing them in your posts over the years. You as I have had some wonderful adventures in So Cal cruising grounds over they years. Hopefully we will actually meet soon. If you do end up at Cabrillo it would be great if we could organize another Ericson Photo shoot day again with Summer Wind E-31 Ind., Golden Girl E-35, Regulas E-30+, Valenor E-32 and The Pride of Cucamonga E-27 as well as your new to you, Serendipity E-39B and maybe even David Windish's E-46. All Ericson owners I have met in the area. I would also like to meet Mark A. and see his E34T out there.

Might be fun to set them up end to end by boat length. I would be bringing up the rear with my little E-27 unless La Petite could make it down from Ventura.

I think it might be possible to do a rendezvous at Cat Harbor on the back side of Catalina some time. I envy those Pacific Northwest Gatherings. Two Harbors and Avalon are defiantly too crowded during the Summer but Cat Harbor always seems to have lots of moorings and anchorages just about any time of the year.
:egrin:

Question. Love that dish drying rack you show in the gallery. Love how it folds up. Where can I get one?

Great pictures! I especially liked seeing how you were storing stuff. Was that grab bag that was bungie corded just forward the mast? in 27? And a backstay tensioner in 21? Also did you have a boom preventer setup on picture 14?

That was our propane locker :) I was never comfortable with the butane canisters or propane canisters on board so I'd just stuff them in a plastic bag (rust prevention) in a small camping bag which I'd bungie on the deck.

And a backstay tensioner in 21?

Yes, I took that off but probably still have the parts if you want them. We were not going to race so adjusting the tension was an infrequent occurrence which did not need speed. It also got in the way when using the swim ladder. Finally, I worry about over-stressing the rigging/hull and there were a few hairline cracks in the transom that I think were the result of less than wise adjustments in the past.

Also did you have a boom preventer setup on picture 14?

In the picture where we were doing almost 7 knots wing on wing I think I did rig a temporary one. It is a vague memory and I don't see it in the picture so I must have rigged it after I took the picture. It was very temporary, from the boom to the chainplate and back to a cleat in the cockpit. It would prevent disaster but was not suitable for long term use.

I think we got that while we were still frequenting WM. I have seen it in other places too under the name of something like suitcase dish rack ? It is very useful and packs away nicely.

I think we are moving to 31A28 in Cabrillo. We told Veronica in the office that we didn't like the weather in the slip but otherwise it looked ok and certainly a lot closer than SD. The two fingers are both sloping and we'd be stuck between two tall powerboats, but if we can get into and out of the slip we'll be very happy. Even if we have to take the slip now we won't be moving up until April 1st or so and we only wish we could bring the craftsmen in Mission Bay with us :-(
