The EY.o Information Exchange vs. Owner's Registry

Confused over the Information Exchange vs. the Owner's Registry? See if your question is one of those below...

... Still confused? Please feel free to contact us - we're happy to help!

Q: What is the difference between the EY.o Information Exchange and the Owner's Registry? Are they the same thing?

A: No, the Information Exchange and the Owner's Registry are in fact two separate programs that write out to two separate databases. You can register in either, both or neither.
They are separate programs because an area for discussion for perspective owners was sought, as well as a registration for existing owners. By providing a separate place for discussions, we ensure a complete listing of those persons who currently own an Ericson Yacht.

You are required to register for placing listings in either. To search in either however, you need not register.

Q: How do I register for the EY.o Information Exchange?

A: If you would like to register on the Information Exchange, all you need to go is go to follow the link to the Information Exchange. Once there, simply click on the link "Register" (a small icon in the upper right hand corner). You'll pass through a screen asking you to comply with the rules of the board; and then to your profile.

Here, you set the options for your logon name and password, email address, password of your choice and other features offered by the discussion board. These settings all have descriptions, and are self explanatory. After you finish registering, a cookie will be placed on your computer which will automatically log you in whenever you wish the Information Exchange (so you won't have to log in each time).

Please also refrain from using operators (basically all the characters in the top row of your key board; things such as !@#$%^&), as the system sees these characters as symbols for calculation, and treats them differently (ie; you entry will not be placed in the database if you use these symbols) within any entry in the website.

You are able to update your profile at will, and the items you submit in your profile are up to you. If you have any problems using the Information Exchange, we hope you'll contact us.

Q: How do I know if I'm logged into the EY.o Information Exchange?

A: Simply go to the Information Exchange. If you are logged in, you will see "Welcome <your name>", and information on the last time you visited the site right beneath the EY.o logo. If you are not logged in, it will just say welcome without your name.

Q: How do I post a message or reply to an existing message on the EY.o Information Exchange?

A: If you are logged in: You can go to any forum, into any message, and click on "Post Reply", or "New Thread". Threads are new subjects, Replies are, well, replies to existing messages. When you get to the reply screen, your logon name and password will already been entered, and all you need to do is enter your message and subject (if appropriate).
If you are not logged in: If you do not see a welcome message with your logon name on it when first enter the EY.o Information Exchange, you are not logged in. If you have already registered, all you need to do is either:
a: Scroll to the bottom of the first page and login. A cookie will be placed on your computer so you will not have to login again unless you choose to logout on purpose. -or-

b: Browse the forums and messages until you find one that interests you. Once you attempt to reply to a message, the system will ask you to login. Simply enter your login name and password.

If you have not registered for the EY.o Information Exchange, you will need to do so before starting threads or replying to existing messages.

Q: How can I locate a specific post by user, subject, etc. on the EY.o Information Exchange?

A: Go to the Information Exchange. Choose "Search" (small icon in the upper right hand corner). Here, you can search either by looking for a keyword (things like "reef", etc.) or by the person who posted it (use the boxes marked "Search by User Name").

Also, when making a search, use the partial matches if the information you're entering might not be complete, or use exact matches if you're sure that what you've entered is absolutely correct. If you get an error, or the search does not yield the results you wish, go back to the search screen, check your parameters, and either widen or narrow your search criteria.

Q: How can I attach an image to my post on the EY.o Information Exchange?

- Register on the Exchange so you can use it (see above).
- Once registered and logged in - create a "New Thread".

- After the box where you enter your text, there is an option to attach a file to your post (see image below). Please be sure your image is not huge (more than 500k in size), or it will prohibit you from attaching it.

- The image will show up in your post when you submit it.

Q: I've forgotten my logons and/or password(s) - how can I get them back??

A: Go to the Information Exchange or the Owner's Registry. In the Information Exchange, click on the "profile" icon. If you're not logged in, the system will prompt you to logon, and there is a link there for you to obtain your password ("Forgotten Your Password?"). Follow the link, and enter your email address. The system will email you your password and logon information.

On the Owner's Registry, click on the "Look Up Password" link on the main window, where it will prompt you for your email address. Again, the system will email you your password and logon information.

Q: How to I register for the Owner's Registry?

A: If you would like to register your boat on the EY.o Owner's Registry, all you need to do is go to www.EricsonYachts.com , then follow the link to the Owners & Projects, and then to the Owner's Registry. Once there, choose the link that says "Add, Edit or Delete Your Listing". You will then be lead to a login box, where it asks you to choose a goal (choose "Add a New Listing", if you wish to add, etc.), and then enter your email address and a password of your choice.

The Owner's Registry will then provide a profile for you to fill out. This includes the owner's name, boat's name, hull number, year, etc. The address fields are optional, however we request that you provide enough information for the entry to be useful to other's seeking to find boats in your class.

Please refrain from using operators (basically all the characters in the top row of your key board; things such as !@#$%^&), as the system sees these characters as symbols for calculation, and treats them differently (ie; you entry will not be placed in the database if you use these symbols) within any entry in the website.

Like the Information Exchange, the Owner's Registry is editable, and you will always be change or delete your entry later if you wish. You will receive a confirmation from the EY.o Registry via email once you complete the profile.

I've tried to register on the Owner's Registry, and I cannot find the listing. Where is my listing?
When entering your registration in the Owner's Registry, you MUST enter each line without operators (basically all the symbols on the top row of keys on your keyboard). Computer programs most often see these symbols as an indication that there are calculations to be performed, and when you use them, the PHP programming within the Owner's Registry simply kicks it out, and does not submit it to the SQL database.
Try entering your registration without any symbols or special characters.
