Temp. probe

Hi, all.

I just installed a 90 amp Leece Neville alternator on my M25XP diesel. I attached it to a Balmar ARS 5 smart regulator. Since the alternator runs hot I wanted to put the optional temperature sensor on the case of the alternator. The problem is that the sensor attaches to one of the four case bolts on the alt. and the Balmar probe is too wide to fit on the said bolts because they are located in a dimple on the case body. Before I call Balmar and see if I can file the probe to a more narrow profile I thought I would see if anyone has already addressed this problem. How do I attach the Balmar probe to the Leece case body?

Also, the tach does not work on the Leece Neville although I understood the Leece was a direct swap out for the previous Motorola 55 amp. I have tried it both with a direct connection from the alt. to the tach and wired through the Balmar ARS 5. Any ideas?
