Hopefully, this post will give someone some ideas.

The attached photos show the anchor roller setup on my 1973 E27.

The roller is a WindLine AR-3 model:

Re: the below deck photo of the backing plates:
The large blue piece is 3/8" fiberglass.
The SS square is 3" x 3".

Chuck, I'll bet you had fun working upside down with your shoulders and arms crammed into the bow section! This looks very familiar to me. Same sort of project for our boat. I set the G10 plate in thickened epoxy and rammed it up with sticks until the epoxy kicked.
Just kidding, BTW. It was so little fun that the fun quotient numbers went negative!

Ultimately, it was one arm, one shoulder, and I could not look at my fingers.

Very happy to have finished that project.
