I recently purchased an Ericson 29. There is some work that will be required and I probably won't put it in the water until next year. The first item on my list is to recore a portion of the bow. The reason I have to do this is somewhere along the line the bow pulpit was ripped out leaving two holes where the front two connections where made (allowing water in and causing the core rot/fail). I have read a lot of good info on this site detailing how to attack this project but I have a question about the bow pulpit attaches. I see the stanchions are raised proud above the deck and was wondering if that was also the case for the bow pulpit connections? If so, is there additional coring or is it just built up fiberglass? Thanks.
