Water Tank Baffles (or lack thereof)

bolbmw

Member III
After a particularly rough night at anchor I learned that there are no baffles in my factory original water tanks, and got to enjoy the sound not only of water sloshing back and forth but it slapping against the sides of the tank with its own wave period. It was loud enough I thought our keel was bouncing on something!

The tanks are sound and in good condition, so I'd rather not replace them for ones with baffles. Has anyone had meaningful success using baffle balls?

I've seen waffle balls used in an experimental fuel tank. Not sure how that ever turned out.

I can say that while reticulated foam will work as a baffle for at least fuel, small fragments will come off and get into every crevice in the system. You need a good filter.
