Does anybody know where to get parts like the starter key, and button, tachometer, and other parts pertaining to the engine electrical system on my E 34, 1987? The engine is a Universal diesel, 25XP.

While it might be possible to source this stuff from Westerbeke, the price would be high - likely astoundingly high.

Plan B would be to build or buy a new engine panel; and there are threads here about doing that.

Our '88 M25XP panel came to us with no "key" - the first owner had replaced it with a HD bat-handle on/off switch. Given the problems with keys on many other boats, we do not miss it.
The momentary contact switches for the start and glow plug can be sourced pretty easily. I am not sure about a tach -- never looked for one.

Another source of info would be the large Universal diesel archives at the Catalina 34 owners' web site. Their head guy, Stu, checks in here regularly too.
