Powering an E32-2

I've recently seen a mid-1980's Universal 21hp M25 engine for sale. I understand they were designed to replace the Atomic 4, and I was wondering if anyone has done so with a 1970's 32 ft or larger Ericson. Mainly I'd like to know if it has enough power compared to the A4. Thanks,
Becky

If the 21 hp Universal is in good condition it should be fine. After all, that is the engine that went into Ericson 32's and 33's in the 80's. The later version of that engine, the 23 hp M25XP is in my '88 Olson 34 (10600 # disp).
If an older M25, make sure it has the upgrade heat exchanger, or add it yourself.
I am told that the alternator bracket was changed on later versions of this model, as well. Perhaps a dealer can speak to this.

Best,

Loren
