Reaching across the finish at the local mixed doubles regatta this weekend. Lisa is driving, I am apparently hanging out in the shade. There is a drone in front of us taking good video.

Sick of my sailing videos yet? Tough!

Here's my latest YouTube video I titled, "Urchins Above & Below Catalina". A three day trip condensed into thirteen minutes. Complete with underwater footage this time. I know you may have already seen some of these clips on Facebook but you haven't seen it all. Please excuse some of my more colorful language. btw "Urchin Heads" is the name of a band I play in. The other two Dudes onboard are my band mates. :egrin:

Factory Option?

Not me - (found in a Facebook Boat Group). Pretty sure that is a E35-2. (On 2nd look though, with the cove strip, could be an Alberg). Is there an easy identifier between the two from this perspective?

Ericson and Olson owners fall cruising

Two weeks ago, we enjoyed our last (official) club cruise to a dock several miles up river from our moorage, on Government Island. This facility was built with our boating registration funds several years ago. All concrete decks.
The picture shows some distortion, as I was standing on the shore-ramp walkway, about 20 feet higher than the docks.
There are two Olson 34's and one Ericson 33RH docked in the foreground.

Sunny weekend and a monster potluck dinner... following a "happy hour" that saw the disposition of a a quantity of adult beverages.

There will certainly be more sailing, but not so much overnighting for those of us without forced-air furnaces.
:esad:

Cheers,
Loren

Handsome boat, very traditional. Which prompts me to ask about the excellent name, "Breaking Tradition".

Your family were farmers, perhaps? :)

Oh, and welcome aboard!

I am the 5th owner of the boat and it appears that it has always been called Breaking Tradition. She looks better in the picture that it does in person. It sunk several years ago and was not properly dried out upon raising. I am in the process of replacing much of the interior and finding an engine for the boat. This boat hasn't mover under her own power since fall 2012. I hope to have it ready to day sail by spring. From what I have been able to discover about this boat, it was the 7th E35 built by the very young Ericson company.

And Thanks for the welcome!

French Polynesia

We are alive and well, currently in Hiva Oa, Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia. We have internet access for the first time in three months! Here's a pic of Naoma flying downwind along the southern coast of Moorea. After almost a year and a half of non-stop cruising we are more than impressed with the 38-200 both while sailing far offshore and while living onboard for extended periods in remote anchorages. (P.S. Mike, if you read this I know I owe you an email... coming soon brother!)
