Brown 22...or the other name for the stuff that comes out of that crack.

Mystery! Brown 22...or the other name for the stuff that comes out of that crack.

Get you mind out of the gutter..lol!

I'm talking about the brown, sticky liquid that started dripping out of the tiny crack forward of my port deck organizer above the handrail.

I noticed it after we had 22" inches of rain last Tuesday here in Pensacola.

One friend (a fiberglass guy) says it usually means there is some rotten wood underneath. He hasn't seen it yet but says he might have remove the deck organzier and repair underneath then "glass it back in". There are no soft spots and no leaks.

Another friend (and fiberglass guy) said, it's no big deal and that there's a small void that he needs to patch and blend in. Says he sees this all the time and not to worry.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks
Rick

P.S. Can anyone guess what movie that reference is from in the title? It was part of a double-bill and was written by a future comic.

Rick, the 'soy sauce' is generally indicative of rotten wood. Friend number one wins the job.:)

I hope he's wrong. It's really sticky like glue. I can't imagine rotten wood "juice" being tacky like that.:0
