12-volt plugs

Sven

I left the 12-volt bible on board, so I can't look it up :-/

What is the best way of installing an unpluggable 12-volt device ? A screw terminal block that you unscrew every time you want to remove the device ... banana plugs ... ?

I expect to be removing the wooden side panels in the cabin from time to time to make sure the stanchion bedding isn't leaking, but that also means disconnecting the light fixture, right now I have to cut the wires every time.

Suggestions ?

Thanks !

Being in fresh water, I don't have the corrosion issues, so used the 2-pole connectors from Radio Shack to connect all my cabin lights that are attached to those panels. In your case, I would suggest the two-pole connectors by Cole Hersee that have polarized, brass contacts. See West Marine #211946.

Another thing I did with all those panels is to bond wood blocks behind the fiberglass where all the fasteners attach. It seems if you take those screws out a few times, the fiberglass loses its grip.
