Removing gas tank from a 1967 Ericson 30

If anyone has removed a gas tank from an Ericson 30 (1967 vintage) I could use some advice. Can the tank be removed through the starboard lazarette in one piece? What has been used as a replacement tank?

Don't know about the '67 E30 but I removed the tank from my '85 E30+ in one piece. It required some imaginative twisting and turning of the tank to get it in the right orientation to pass through the lazarette opening (on the port side in my boat) but I got it done. Getting the plywood piece that covered the tank out was a similar process; it would only come out or go back in one way.
