    Better Weather?

I can send you what we had on Sunday, 2.4" of snow and a wind straight off the lake that was measured at 50 mph gusting to 74. Did get to go sailing Monday, but today is windy again, sustained 25,...

I would not mind moving the traveler connection forward about a foot, just to keep the lines from interfering with the throttle and shifter all of the time!

I have been looking online and it looks like bending at the Vang mount is a pretty common issue. I have a feeling this will not be a fix I do this year, but next winter I may take the boom,...

Bent boom! Should I be concerned?

I was out chipping the ice out of the cockpit drains today ad took the time to look down the length of the boom (with no sail on it) and I noticed that it has a bend right where the spring loaded...

At the end of Lake Superior

I have the big yellow one! 1974 32-2, named Big Bird for a reason.
  8. Wiring

I was thinking about the wiring part as well, with the current setup you cannot get at any of the wiring between the engine compartment and wherever the wires terminate. If I have wood strips...
  9. Looks wonderful!

Excellent! I will make sure this gets put down on the list of truly feasible projects for next year! I will post pictures as well!
  10. Pondering replacing the interior ceiling/headliner E32-2

This is down a ways on the priority list, I think re-coring the decks has more priority, but the replaced the center skylight/hatch with a smaller skylight/hatch and there is a 4" open area of...

I have a ship mate with a habit of pushing off on the bow when I back out of the dock, which with the torque steer makes the boat do a 90 degree turn in about six feet, unfortunately the neighbors...

    I found my parts!

I found a boat wrecker in Marinette Wisconsin and got the rub rail plus some other stuff while I was at it! If anyone is looking for miscellaneous boat parts he has (going by memory) an E-25, E-27,...

The guy was really cool, and reasonable! I got 15' of the rubrail base and a couple other parts I could use for some projects I have been thinking about. He also knows his stuff, he knows what fits...

It sounds like you are getting overpowered. When the wind is that high I don't like using the main at all, We have gotten six knots out of the Jib alone in those conditions! One time with a good...

Pretty sure that is just a chromed rod, threaded on one end, likely would not be all that hard to produce. I should see if I have any chromed stainless floating around, I could likely take mine as...

The wind was straight out of the ENE, so perfectly aligned to raise as much havoc as possible! I found a good picture of the lake that day! To say it was not safe would be an understatement.

Looks like the Wefco may have the right one

Wefco seems to make the right part, I am happy that my boat survived the storm without the "sharkmouth" in the bow like some of my dock mates, although replacing this rub rail may be a bit of a pain....

    Melissa,
I have a somewhat more conservative approach - maybe because I'm further north and it can get to 40-50 below where my boat is wintered. And this is probably after the fact, but for the...

    32-2 winterizing checklist?

I did get a pretty good list from the previous owner, what to use, what to put where, but there are always going to be weird loops in the plumbing that no one would ever think of that need to get...

    Looks too flat

When I was growing up we had a flat bottomed planing cabin cruiser (1957 steelcraft) and it would pound HARD in any kind of sea. But being that the steel was 3/16" thick it took it well. With the...
  24. E32-2 Anyone do anything with that useless bunk across from the dinette?

I have a 1974 32-2 and I am sure a few of you are familiar with that odd bunk across from the dinette that goes under the closet through the wall. I personally find the whole thing kind of useless...
