    New jib sheets for E-23

New Ericson-23 Mk II owner here (and first-time boat owner). I've got a few things I'm looking to do with the boat, one of which is replacement of the jib sheets. Currently, it's got 1/2" jib sheets that are the same color as the main sheet and is a little confusing for family that I'm taking...

    headsail sheets

Just a quick question about the proper routing of the jib sheets. I just moved up from a 14 ft daysailer to an e27 with a jib and a 130 (spinnaker?), and I was wondering about the routing of the sheet aft to the cockpit. Do they run insided the stays to the block or outside. I can see that if...

jib sheets caught on forward hatch.

My 1987 E26-2 jib sheets get caught under my closed front hatch when I tack. I might try to put two small 'guards' to fill the gap under the forward corners but before I try to make something, who out there already has this problem figured out? Joe.

    E26-300 Spinnaker Sheets

My '88 E26 needs spinnaker sheets. Currently flying a cruising spin using the genoa sheets. I know the rigging originally called for 3/8". Thinking about going with 5/16" Samson Ultralite. Anyone done something similar? It would be light and not take up water. Size is my main concern...

    Sizing spinnaker sheets ?

I know they should be twice the LOA (or more) but I don't know how to determine the diameter. I assume that handling comfort would preclude very thin ones even if they are strong enough, but since I'll be buying 160' of it I want to go on more than assumptions. Our recut asymmetric...

What is the rule of thumb for jib/genny sheets

Just bought a 1987 E-28 2 weeks ago. The P O had passed away 4 years ago and I bought the boat from his wife. Anyway the jib sheets were missing and she was unable to locate them. I am using the spinnaker sheets for now but I am wondering, what is the rule of thumb for the length if jib sheets...

    Advice, please on spinnaker sheets

The spinnaker on our 1984 E30+ came without spinnaker sheets. The specs sheet that came with the boat list the sheets as 55' in length and 3/8" dacron double braid line. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct length before I buy them--it would not be good if they were a foot or two too...

    Main Sheets

Okay, in reading another new thread on this forum today, I got to thinking about single-handing. I am looking for an E-34, and they all seem to have the coach-top traveler configuration. How does this layout work for sailing from the aft steering station? I know you have the winches back...

Solution for ill fitting sheets (bed)

I thought of a simple solution for the annoying problem of trying to make regular sheets fit the boat's beds. We use the aft cabin for sleeping, but I also did the same thing for the V berth for the occasional sleep over guests. I took the foam padding sold in stores such as KMart that fit...

Correct way to tie sheets to Genoa?

Hello all, I have fairly large sheets, 1" on my 125% genoa on my E38. I have attached them with a bowline knot for each. Is there a less messy knot to attach two large sheets like this? I have looked in my knot book but can't seem to find an alternative. I am thinking that splicing an eye...
