Looking for old post on mast step water

Hi folks, I keep getting 997 or 998 returns when I search for "mast step" channel water bilge (and anything else I try but "monkey" then I get 11, so search is working). I know there is a post talking about creating a channel for the water that gathers on top of the mast step into the bilge...

    E-38 architect's drawings

Tilted boat oh... I managed to fill all 60 gal (was seeing if that would help diagnose my pressure problem - I now think that's just a water pump issue)... friend is bringing a pump over soon to help with the tank. Yes, windlass and chain too are up there too. 40 gals of fuel in the aft...

    E-38 architect's drawings

Just laughing... Just filled the bow tank for the first time and sadly surprised to see how far down the bow is and how easy it is to see the rudder.... Of course the pressure water is out at the moment and siphoning from the fill access isn't working... Laugh with me Terri

    Bilge drain plugs

Is the consensus that I should quit worrying about those bilge plugs? Hi folks, I've been playing in the bilge all weekend (3 months new to me boat, still in the yard, though now in the water at the yard, E38 1882). I too have these odd plugs in the TAFG -- some still with the plugs in, some...

    Diesel Impregnation of Cabin Sole

New test criteria Never would have thought to try and skate on it first -- now that will be a first test. I hope it healed well. At the rate the yard work is going (fuel tank replacement plus engine work), WhiteNoise's project will be long done before I start. I look forward to the results.

    Diesel Impregnation of Cabin Sole

Great ideas I found Plasteak at http://www.plasteak.com/boating/boating.html and will go take a look at a Catalina. Seems to be something you would put on top of a structural piece. I'm also told that West Marine has sheets of plastic (?) in various thicknesses that might be cut to shape. A...

    Diesel Impregnation of Cabin Sole

So it's a replacement -- modern materials? Thanks for your help - I knew I'd find the experts here. What I should probably have in my profile is that I have virtually no experience with wood work (or tools), and sadly my grandfather and uncle (experts) are no longer with us. They'd love this...

    Diesel Impregnation of Cabin Sole

Two weeks ago I bought a lovely 1982 E-38 that hadn't had much attention in the last five years. I’m sure this won’t be my last request for help… A long time diesel leak has soaked the cabin sole. The sole near the engine disintegrated (and the wood structure under the aft birth has to come...
