    Enclosing Motor Compartment 36 RH

I decide to pull my engine, mostly because when the factory built, they didn't finish off under the motor, it's just raw glass. Can't reach to clean under engine, and my one complaint is the motor is open on the back side so it's a noisy beast, especially when motoring for few hours. So while I...

More 38-200 installation pics (storm sails, solar/wind, radar, monitor self steering)

Ryan, if I go forward with my 1" support bar it takes a good sitting spot and makes it smaller. I have it all measured, just haven't made it up yet. I think you went a little higher, I didn't think of that. It might help get it out of the way. Thanks Send picture if you get a chance, no hurry...

More 38-200 installation pics (storm sails, solar/wind, radar, monitor self steering)

Ryan, what supports the radar tower, can't tell from photos is your railing supporting or did you add some additional support? I have similar setup but my railing isn't going to support it well enough in heavy weather. Just looking for ideas.. Thanks Tom RH36

    Old Mylar Sails

Mark, the last two weeks have been 15 to 20 knot winds, my number 3 is going on tomorrow. The higher winds we get in the fall should work out nicely. I've started sailing more with just my main, at least until we get out in the big lake. I'm surprised how well the boat does with no reef and just...

    Old Mylar Sails

I took them all out. I have 2- No. 1, a heavy and a light, a number 2 and number 3. I can't find any wear on them. The 3 is going up first, perfect for fall sailing. The main is delaminated and should go in the dumpster.... but gosh I have a big barn, can't be throwing stuff out! Someday they'll...

    Old Mylar Sails

So maybe they are not Mylar? They are not clear, white with parts of them tan color. I unrolled them upstairs of the barn to inspect. I measured and the number 1 I would have to switch to 1/4" line on my furler it's 36" longer in foot than my normal headsail. It might be fun to try but awful lot...

    Old Mylar Sails

A friend was in a jam and needed a head sail, I went and checked out some of my dozen sails that came with my 36 RH. To my surprise my number 1 2 and 3 head sails are like brand new mylar, no wear marks anywhere. Are these things still usable? Boat is a 81 not sure the age of the sails but...

    Rub Rail Replacement

36 RH rubrail design I'm replacing my 36 RH rub rail on my 36 RH as we speak, the flange on the 36RH if it's not sealed will allow water into boat. If the rub rail is not sealed well water runs off deck onto rub rail and go into boat, not lots of water but nuisance leak. I decided to make my...

E35-3 Overland Shipping Height (Keel to Bow Pulpit)

Overland shipping I ship my 36 Rh twice year, I take mine home every winter. 36 RH has 6' draft, I have to take pulpit and safety cables off, but other than that it's clean ship under 13'6". The guy I use is out of Muskegon, Mi. takes 30 minutes to load up and off he goes. Need to have good...

Water in the bilge during the winter?

I drilled my plate on the mast step and tapped it with 3/8" npt and put piece of hose on it that goes into my bilge. the water from my mast goes into a small jug that I can lift out. That has kept the constant little bit of water from the mast out of my bilge. Really would like to figure out a...

Water in the bilge during the winter?

The antifreeze is a great idea! With our Ericson the hull and pan are separate pieces that were assembled during fabrication. Water froze between the pan and hull and pushed it up in the bilge. Fairly straight forward fix, but PO would have been very wise to put some antifreeze in the bilge, so...
