    Best wood finishing out there

I started finishing my exterior wood one year ago. Seems like a hundred years now... next I remember, caught between work and viral thing and literally, abandon the boat for a year. I am back to finish the boat this week. The one-year finishing looks like I did it yesterday. Highly recommendable...

Survey day suggests probably “don’t buy this 32-3”

Blisters seem to me almost normal for that boat and age. I would not so worry about the keel. As far you do not find any kind of smile, they survived. I replaced the keel bolt before... a nasty, time-expensive job... I would not do it again. If you feel worried regarding the bolts, don't buy the...

Is a magnetic compass at helm too old-school?

I have an electronic compass unit as separate unit. One time I calibrated, it's enough reliable. If I lost 12v... Welll... There are a couple magnetic compass around...

    Some electronic for sale...

Past year, an electronic provider stole some key electronic for my boat... My raspberry and Montessier hat and a small factor window pc were shipped and "lost" on the process. So I changed my electronic setup, renouncing to use Open CPN and using mostly B&G commercial products. I have a couple...

    Refit my Ericson 27

After almost a year, I back to finish this project. I start installing the nmea2K backbone; "Tototo" has a very complex system, almost everything runs over nmea2K. I installed the triton instrument, simrad engine and run a conduit in order to cut the run around the boat for AC, DC and nmea. Next...

Best way to plug a screw hole on mast top?

J-B weld will do the trick. If you prefer add a screw, don't forget add a touch of tef gel in order to avoid corrosion and harsh comment from arm chair captains ;)

Vendors, General Blue Pelican (SF Bay Area)

At Bay Area, we have Blue Pelican, an incredible consigment store at Gran Marina in Alameda. Prices are low and always you can ask nicely for a discount. I always found gems there and definitely the refit of my E27 could be impossible if I just go to west marine. Highly recommendable...

Double flare for rigid diesel fuel line

$4 hose... $30 for 50' good copper line. Do the math. At the trade is not about you like or not. It's legal or not. Period. Rigid line are the standart at commercial. I never found too much hose at commercial boats.

Double flare for rigid diesel fuel line

Yes, it's fir replace lines between tank and engine. Rigid copper lines still been legal and way less expensive than hoses.

Double flare for rigid diesel fuel line

I'm on the process to replace the old rigid diesel line (in very bad condition) with new copper rigid ones. Did anybody know if I need to double flare the ends? I know on brake car lines, double flare is mandatory. Thank you in advance!
