    Bed-it

Just noticed, that as of this past weekend Maine Sail's Bed It tape is now distributed by Sailboatowners.com: https://shop.sailboatowners.com/prod.php?55717/Rod+Collins+and+apos;+Bed-It+Tape This was posted on May 20, 2022: https://marinehowto.com/bed-it-tape/ This article has photos showing...

    Bed-it

FYI, the stuff from Hamilton Marine was worthless. A buddy ordered some and It had absolutely no stretch whatsoever - it crumbled like old play-doh. Also it wasn't that tacky or sticky. To be fair, this is a sample size of 1 so maybe we just got a bad one?. Regardless, if I needed butyl in...

    Diagnosing an electrical issue

If I were you, I would stop trying to diagnose the problem and just replace the batteries. The batteries are very likely dead. Any time a battery is below about 11.6 v, it is being damaged. Please see attached State of Charge diagram

It's bouquet had subtle notes of teak, with dark fruity notes..

    Bed-it

For completeness I'm following up. The sticky-tape from fiberglast seems the same as bed-it (though it is a thicker at about 1/8", and with a slightly different shade of gray). I took about 1.5" of each and stretched both over 30" and figured it's similar enough. Though the sticky-tape does...

    Bed-it

I do actually have both products in hand, bed-it at the boat and now my vacuum-bagging stuff at home. I'll try to compare them side-by-side this weekend. This is something I've been meaning to do anyway.

    Bed-it

I discovered this when doing some vacuum bagging of a fiberglass layup: https://www.fibreglast.com/product/gray-sealant-tape-00581 Upon inspection, it looks suspiciously similar to the butyl tape from Maine Sail's site (Compass Marine).

    5432 Diesel Engine Exhaust Riser

Often there are 2 versions for this part depending on how deep your engine sits in the boat. One has a riser (bigger hump) for engines that sit lower in the boat (which consequently have more risk of backflow from the wet exhaust system). My understanding is that sailboats usually sit below...

E35-3 Shoal draft (4' 11") mast height - short rig or standard rig?

bgary and markvone, Thank you for the information! It never would've crossed my mind to measure the keel - good advice!

E35-3 Shoal draft (4' 11") mast height - short rig or standard rig?

Thank you for replying! FYI the "I" measurement is from the top of the mast to gunwale (where the shrouds meet the deck) - not to the cabin top (where the mast meets the deck). That extra foot and change puts you at 46 feet.

E35-3 Shoal draft (4' 11") mast height - short rig or standard rig?

Standard (tall) rig!!! :) FYI, the brokerage allowed me to measure the rig. I pre-marked some spare line (at 39') for the P measurement of a 35-3. I hoisted it and sure enough the P-measurement came in at 39'. So, I can definitively state that a shoal draft 35-3 can have a standard rig.

E35-3 Shoal draft (4' 11") mast height - short rig or standard rig?

Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing an E35-3 with the shoal draft (4' 11"). Does anyone know if all E35-3 shoal draft boats have the short rig (I measurement = 43) or are they generally the standard mast height (I measurement = 46)? I'm really hoping this one I'm looking at has the taller...

E35-III owners, can I sail with you? Free beer!

Hello, I would like to know more about the Ericson 35-III as I may want to buy one in the future. If you own a 35-III in the Annapolis area - could I come sail with you and check her out? I can provide beer and food! I can be available weekdays or weekends. Thank you! -Reefpoints
