    Battery switch during shore charging?

Turn it off I has been my experience that chargers are almost always set to charge regardless of the position of the battery selector switch. As a rule, I very rarely put the selector switch to "both." I have seen too many batteries rendered useless before their time due to its companion...

    E-23 Stuck-up centerboard

Stuck Centerboard To help illustrate the worst case senario, here is a picture of the bottom leading edge of my former centerboard and a shot showing that the lifting eye is stainless, but not the spine. jim

    E-23 Stuck-up centerboard

Stuck Centerboard I have an E-25 c/b, and when I got it, the board was severely jammed in place. The centerboard was original to the boat, and the PO had attempted to drop it by beating on it with a long stick. Needless to say, that did absolutly nothing. We ended up having to get the boat...

e-25 Outboard Battery Cable...route to battery box?

Electrical Routing I went and looked at how my cable was run. There is a hole about three inches up from the bottom in the forward side of the locker. If memory serves, there was a two to three inch space between the bulkhead and the outside of the locker. Hope this helps. jim

e-25 Outboard Battery Cable...route to battery box?

My E-25 is similar The setup in my E-25 is very similar. I don't know if this is specific to my boat, but there is a vent high on the aft face of that locker. The main concern I have with your setup is the ease that leaked fuel could enter the aft of the boat and into the bilge. When I got...

    best bottom paint

I'm in the same boat, pardon the pun, when it comes to bottom paints. I am planning on painting this coming fall, and think I will be using trinidad, but that is subject to change. As far as wiring is concerned, it all depends. For items which are not likely to see any water, I typically use...

    1984 E-33 Temp Gauge

Gauge testing An easy way to check that the gauge and wiring are working is to simply pull the lead off of the sensor and ground it, while the key is in the run position. The gauge should peg out if it is working.

    New E25 Centerboard and Rudder

Great!! That's great to hear!! After seeing your post, I decided to place my order, the original one had split in several places, and required the use of a hydraulic jack to remove it. I can't wait to mount it, and give it a try! I am very impressed with the quality of the board, and it was...

    Water in E25 bilge

Jerry, do you have a centerboard or fixed keel version of the E25. I have a centerboard model, and there tends to be a little build-up of water where you are talking. I think this is due to the fact that the water has to be able to go around the c/b trunk. If it seems overly full, you might...

    Internal Halyard Conversion

Plasma cutting I don't have much experience with modifying masts, but I have played with a plasma cutter for a little while now. I wouldn't dismiss its use so quickly. If you set up a good guide, you can make some surprisingly clean cuts. One of the other good qualities is that the heat is kept...

    Problem with 12 volt system

electrical issues When you tested the voltage, was there any load, like a light bulb, on the circuit? If not, you might check the voltage under load, and see what it drops to. Just because there is voltage, doesn't mean that it has enough of a connection to drive anything. If there is a...

    Wanted; Pictures of E-25CB Trailers

This is a problem that a friend and I pondered over recently, and we finally decided it was time to do something about two weeks ago. If you follow the link below, I have posted some shots of the boat on the trailer. It was surprisingly stable, and only took one try to get it right...
