Hi. I don't think you will have a problem getting a mooring on Saturday. This time of year is pretty safe. I was there last weekend for Easter and there were still moorings available. Jeanne:)

My hull number My Ericson 38 hull number is ERY3827E989. Looks like it is hull 27 for 1989. Does anyone out there know? I was told she is one of the last boats built by Ericson. Jeanne

Isthmus sounds good I was there for Cinco de Mayo and will be at Cat Harbor for Memorial Day. The Pier is out (no water or fuel) due to the Catalina Express crashing into it but they are hoping to have something workable by Memorial Day. Let me know what date you have in mind. Mid-summer...

I have an Ericson 38 and my mechanic wants me to put in a strainer for the engine intake. Is it possible that I have an exterior strainer? I have never heard of this. Sorry to go off track...... Jeanne

Craig - Thanks for the information. Regarding your override, you might want to make sure you have a compatable chain for your gypsy. I am told this is one of the problems if you are using the wrong type of chain. Just a thought. Jeanne

Is it possible to add an electric vertical windlass to an Ericson 38 without extensive (expensive) structural changes to the bow? I am told the hatch is too big and the locker is too small for any reasonable modification. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Jeanne :) Smooth...

Towel hook I would try any good hardware store that carried a large inventory of bathroom fixtures. Also, a good marine store might have some suggestions. I know here in Marina del Rey there is a store, the Ship's Store, where they will try to find anything for you. Happy hunting.... Jeanne
