    Selling 32-200 on lake erie

I have decided to list "Ariel" my 1988 Ericson 32-200 (hull number 807). Currently listed with Freeman-Eckley, but they are going out of business, so will update when I have another broker. Currently the listing is still active on their website. Asking price $32,900. I have updated several...

    V Belts

I recently changed belts on my boat (same set up as yours) I found that the Gates XL notched 3/8 inch wide by 40 inch v-belt worked the best. The 41 inch belt when tensioned correctly allowed the alternator to touch the engine room insulation, and the 39 inch belt was too short. The 40 inch...

    Ignition wiring

Thanks to all on this forum. Finally took the leap and rewired "Ariel". What an improvement. Still need to replace ammeter, but at least it is bypassed for now. Through the process, also revealed that my battery charger isn't really doing anything! hmmmmmm.......might explain why batteries...

    Fresh water pump

John, I just had an accumulator tank go bad on my system and had the jumpy pump syndrome as well. Instead of replacing both, I installed a variable speed pump that doesn't require a tank. More money than just a new pump, but if potentially replacing both might make sense. And seriously...

    32-200 dodger bimini

Does anyone have a dodger or a dodger bimini combo on a 32-200? Any pictures? Any recommendations for the Sandusky area of Lake Erie? Thanks

Air Conditioning on 32-200? Ideas sought...

Skabeeb, I would be curious to see how this goes for you. I bought a used portable AC unit (similar to one currently available by WestMarine) and placed it over larger hatch just forward of mast. Main benefit was removing humidity, and also cooled to more comfortable level. Only a 5000 btu...

    battery compartment

I was afraid that the box size was due to the TAFG structure. I don't think I want to start cutting out structural fiberglass! So...I guess I am back to the 24s. I like the idea of a dedicated starter battery in the starboard lazarette. Lawrence, is your alternator the stock alternator that...

    battery compartment

Apparently the bottom of the battery compartment in a 32-200 is just about 1/2 inch smaller than the top!!! I decided to upsize my battery bank with a pair of size 27 deep cycle batteries and they just barely don't fit in the compartment. I can't take them back (and not sure I want too...

32-200 bilge (i know another bilge thread)

I do believe that the bilge and shower set up are one of the biggest differences between the 32-3 and the 32-200. I have the aft head arrangement, so my shower bilge really drains just the shower (i think)

32-200 bilge (i know another bilge thread)

My thinking now (after the last 2 responses) would be to drill a limber hole from the shower portion of the TAFG that allows the trickle of water I might get from wet gear, etc to drain to the main bilge. Since I like the idea of a backup pump, but DON'T like the idea of drilling several new...

32-200 bilge (i know another bilge thread)

Well, I now know why my shower bilge didn't work last year...it doesn't exist! I have replaced the head and very nasty (saturated) sanitation hoses throughout and as many of you have said, getting down in is the only way to learn your boat. I have researched many threads and now have a...

    32-200 cabin table/port berth conversion?

You are in luck! I pulled the table out of the boat to fiddle with this project this winter, so it is sitting in my garage as we speak. I will take some pics either tonight or tomorrow and post them.
