Hi All,
Apologies if this is rehashing another post. I pulled the trigger on a simple Jabsco hand pump compact and now I'm trying to decide on a Ronco holding tank that I can fit in under my main cabin salon starboard berth seat and then run the pumpout hose to a deck fitting near the...
Thanks Gabriel. That’s great to hear ours is likely the PHC and it is compatible. So you have the fresh head installed on your boat and besides the amount of water it uses, you have no complaints?
Hi All,
I have an older Raritan Compact toilet on my boat, which is a manual pump toilet that is currently not operational (there's a crack in the pump). This existing Raritan has been fitted to the original toilet intake and sink drain thruhulls (dangerous and not allowed for direct discharge...
I just installed a new to me 2 stroke Johnson 15 (circa 1991) on my E29 and it is solid for our purposes of motoring around. I run it low around half throttle and it will get me 3 knots into a current and headwind. Make sure you have a solid interior fiberglass mount piece to anchor it too so...
Amazing. The transcript between you and the various parties on excel is actually a great way to convey the situation. Well done getting out of there alive and hats off to USCG and Garmin.
Hi All, we made it up to MDR! Thanks for all of the good advice here. We ended up motoring most of the way and getting the US Boat insurance as a backup. We left early at 6 am. Our Johnson 15 outboard ran strong against the current and NW headwind at around 2 knots, which got us past point...
Do you think that my spreaders are original? They do seem old. I can’t tell what type of wood it is. Might be teak. It was originally painted. I feel it’s in pretty good shape and if sanded and repainted may be fine, but cant tell. Is a 50 year spreader with chipped paint too old as a rule or...
Hi all,
We bought a new to us 1971 E29 in Long Beach back in September that we have at leeward bay marina, while we have been doing some work on the boat in the marina here, mostly cosmetic, electrical, and interior work. We now have the boat in good shape and need to prepare her for sailing...
Thanks Toddster. I’m on a bit of a time crunch, as I am looking to complete a 35 nm transfer and my current tiller came apart last weekend while underway after I relaminated it with epoxy in an effort to recondition it, so it’s time to invest in a new. I am thinking I’ll try Gabriel’s method of...
Thanks for the feedback Gabriel. So instead of bolts and nuts you used trailer hitch pins, or you used the 5/8” quick release in another way? Did you actually adhere the wood to the tiller or more or less shimmed it?
