    Replacing Seacock Water Intake E27

I am looking to replace the seacock on my water intake for my 1974 E27 during a haul out. The seacock is in rough shape as you can see. I'm reading that the thru hull is a 1/2" so I'm wondering what size, style, and type of seacock I would need to replace. I'm open to replacing the thruhull as...

Weeping seacock for main's seawater intake.. Question! (1969 Ericson 32)

Hello all, Just recently acquired my 1969 Ericson 32. She has a weeping seacock on starboard side for the main seawater intake. It seems like I could grease it to minimize the weeping. Has anyone elsefixed this issue before and if so what did you do? I am hesitating to tighten it up, so am...

Recommendations for a replacement head/holding tank seacocks

I am pulling my 1972 e32 for survey and bottom paint. The seacock valves for the in and out of the head and holding tank look original, the old screw down valve and are pretty corroded. Plumbing question: head to holding tank

I'm getting ready to dismantle the current head and holding tank setup this week to clean and paint the bilges, and then rebuild the system. It must be at least 25 years old, and is due for replacement. There is a Y valve with direct discharge or to the tank; the tank is located under the...

    Seacock Install, "Traditional"

After all the discussion here on seacocks, materials, backing plates, etc, and etc. First, note that this IS a real "seacock," and not a valve screwed onto a threaded thruhull pipe. So, while browsing the still-up PSC web site I found this diagram in the sample docs for the PSC Crealock 37...

    seacock install

seacocks have mounting holes for through bolting but this doesn't make sense to me on a fiberglass install. 1- any impact would pull the head of the fasteners through the hull. Even with the blocking. 2-you have more exposed metal [the heads of the fasteners] with very little surface area in...
