Hull Identification Plate

When I bought my 1973 Ericson 29 the hull identification plate was missing. Did this era of boat come with one?

In Canada they had initiated a requirement for compliance plates but subsequently discontinued the requirement. They did indicate the need to confirm with the manufacturer they the boat is in compliance with Canadian standards. Kind of hard to do. The sail number is 12927. Is that the boat manufacturing number?

Is there an HIN embossed into the gelcoat on either side of the top part of your transom? By that year, it would have been required.
AFAIK Ericson was not using a separate "plate" in those days, like Hinterhoeller or C&C.
(Our former Niagara 26 had a nice engraved builder plaque glued to the rear of the cockpit combing. It faded out from UV and I got a replacement from the builder in the late 80's and reinstalled it into a teak frame inside the cabin.)
