Bilge Volume Reduction

I want to reduce the volume of my E-27 bilge. Too deep. Would like to raise the bottom of the bilge by 3"-4". Any suggestions on the best way to go about doing this. Al

Fill in with expanding foam, then cut it back to a level top surface. Then cover it with epoxy.

Or you could just use epoxy in theory but it would take a lot and you would need to do it a little at a time.

Filling the bilge.

Al, Just pour 3" to 4" of water in there, doh!! Seriously, the foam and glass idea sounds like a good fix. Glyn Judson, E31 hull #55, Marina del Rey, CA with a 44" deep bilge aft of the ballast.

some have done a similar thing with concrete as well as foam. I think if you search on this site, you'll find some threads on this.
