Hi Loren,

In the second video especially, I notice that the boat has two of those "flat line coils" mounted -- one on each side of the cockpit on the railings.
What are these used for in your cruising area?

Those are marketed under the name Ankarolina. The name is a play on Ann (for anchor) and Karolina (for line). It is flat webbing used for casual anchoring in the archipelago, rolled up on a reel.

They are actually very practical as long as you don't have abrasive coral or too much depth.

I should mention that the reel/webbing should be covered when you are not out cruising. UV exposure at dockside or on a mooring over a few seasons will cut the strength of the webbing in half.
