1974 E27 Handrails

I wish to re-bed the handrails on my E27. Does anyone know if I can simply remove the teak plugs and unscrew the rails? I did not know if the screws were machine with nuts underneath that may fall off, or if there is a threaded boss, or simply a large self tapping screw. Thanks in advance.

Just do it

Just dig out the plugs and unscrew the screws. You should find nuts and bolts only at the ends near the cockpit, inside those upper interior compartments.

I pulled them off and replaced them with stainless grab rails. I think they look good and no more re-varnish. Good wood is always good, but trying to keep it that way is a never-ending story.

Good Luck and goodbye
PS: Your boat looks good

Tinted hatches

Steve,

I like the new tinted hatches. The companion way hatch is also done!
Do tell how this was done. :)

Thanks,
