Zoran (AKA Akavishon) was kind enough to give me his old rope clutches which were in good shape. I will use one on my E26 for the mainsheet halyard to simplify the hoisting process.
Before I drill, I was wondering if anyone knew the approximate thickness of the cabin deck of a E26-2 (1988), so I could buy the hardware of the proper size? I have a headliner that zips in the approximate mounting position for the clutch and I was planning on cutting off the excess screw....I just didn't want to buy a 4" if a 2" would do.
None of the current deck hardware has mounting bases similar to Zoran's, So I was wondering if it was really necesary for this mount? A previous thread seemed to indicate that it was not required.
