Bilge pump regulations

What are the regulations regarding bilge pumps in the drip pan under the engine? I seem to recall from somewhere that this is not legal. A previous owner has two pumps installed under the engine and I am tempted to remove them. There shouldn't be any water getting into that drip pan anyway since it is isolated from the area aft of the transmission where the stuffing box would drip.

Oil on the Water

In our Harbor ANY Discharge of Oil in the the Water is subject to FINES:cool:
All it takes is a tiny amount of oil in your Bilge to sheen the water for the Authorities or to have someone else RAT you out !
Keep your Bilge Cleaned of oil and you will not have problems with Discharges.
Wash your Bilge out with ZEP Orange Cleaner....slosh around and Discharge
OffShore with your Head. Really helps with Bilge Gunk BuildUp !

A Clean Bilge Is A Happy Bilge :egrin: :egrin:

The pan area under the engine and transmission can not be connected to any other part of the bilge and no bilge pumps are allowed in that area. It's a No No !!
