Problems at Lewmar?

I was talking to a rigging company today and asked about a Lewmar product. They said they were having problems getting Lewmar hardware. I asked if they were going out of business and he said something like, "That's what everyone in the industry is waiting to see."

I searched on the web and found this from February:

When I was at the Defender spring sale there was stacks of Lewmar product and at very good prices. I was talking with a rep (not Lewmar) and he stated that Lewmar had had a lot of product returned to them by boatbuilders that weren't going to need it due to cutbacks. Apparently Lewmars main business is supplying OEM's, once they stop buying they are SOL. A shame to be sure. RT
