Cruising in Mexico ?

The Log keeps up on current events down here in SoCal and is a good reference for you Travelers. We birth 40 miles from the Border and take ALL of this Drug War very seriously in our Cruising Planning....like NOT GOING TO MEXICO. As you carry arms to protect yourself your boat will be impounded by the Authorities and you will be in Mexican Jail !

While I agree the log is an excellant form of communication, I do however strongly disagree with their views on Mexico. We are retired in Baja, 40 miles south of the border, yes there is a turf war between the cartels, but americans are NOT targeted, using common sense is what one needs. Would you drive thru south LA at night? No... The retirees here are more concerned about their safety going north of the border than being here. The military here is doing an outstanding job in their efforts to protect us. Remember the high gas prices last year, the americans sure weren't afraid to come down to fill their gas tanks!! The media did not give that a lot of coverage.. Again just the opinions of the majority of us retirees living here.
