Bronze Fittings for Dorade Box - Cowl Vent

Hi All,

Last night I had a very unfortunate accident. I was out sailing in 20+ knots of air and did not take my cowl vent off the dorade box. During a tack my jib sheet wrapped itself around the cowl vent and ripped the cowl vent and teak cover of the box off and in the drink. What I now need to replace is the bronze male and female parts for the dorade/cowl vent. Not sure what they are called but it’s the bronze end that fits into the cowl vent and the bronze threaded part that cowl screws into in the dorade box. If any one knows where I can get these two parts I would greatly appreciate it.

Brian,
Here's the dorade and guard on my boat. You definitely need
a guard on the 31.

Dorade and Cowl Vent

Thanks guys for your response, I will have to get that checkbook out for the new cowl vent and now a guard. Where did you get the guard?

Thanks for the compliment, Frank.

Brian,
My guard was custom made. I noticed that Mariners Hardware is
now selling a rotating foot for ss tubing. This simplifies installing
something like a dorade guard.
